At General Machine Products we make tools built to last, that’s why this February we are offering a 10 percent discount on parts we use to repair your lasher.

Frombulletproof” tobattle horse”, GMP cable lashers have been lifelong companions, on the good days and the bad. And that’s what you should expect it to do: last forever.

Whether a J2, an Apollo, or a mighty G, your lasher is more than a tool; it’s a member of your crew. And come spring construction you want your crew rearing to go, with the know-how and tune-ups taken care of back in winter. The linchpin of your crew, your lasher is most valuable with the proper use, refits and repair.

Proper Use

It only takes a few points to keep your lasher running like new. Here’s what everyone on your crew needs to remember. Never load a loose wire coil into your lasher— keep the coil captive by not cutting the last tie until the coil’s already loaded and the coil door is closed. This way, you don’t run the risk of broken wires, or even damaging your lasher.

Likewise, remember that Apollo models feed lashing wire from the outside of the coil, contrary to center-feeding models. Another essential piece of information to remember is to keep your lasher tethered to your bucket or the strand; no matter how great of a condition your lasher is in, it’s tough for anything to withstand a 28-foot drop.

Refits

With the greater density of pole space over the last half century, overlashing is more necessary than ever. If you need to modify your lasher to maximize overlashing capacity, GMP’s full repair service can easily customize your lasher to your needs, extracting the most value out of it. If you’re looking to upgrade to a newer model, however, an Apollo lasher can overlash up to a 4 inch bundle without modifications, or lash an extra inch in cable width, all while not sacrificing the comparable size dimensions and weight of a J2 model. Conveniently, Apollo lashers can also be pulled horizontally, without any downward pressure, making it easier to lash where ground access between poles is restricted.

Repair Service

Tuning up your lasher in the winter prevents losing a week of work in the spring. Likewise when your lasher is repaired, it comes out operating like it’s brand-new. That’s because at General Machine Products we don’t just repair or replace a missing piece— we break down and rebuild the whole unit.
