The Lightweight Capstan Winch (70627) is a general-purpose winch, with a pulling capacity of up to 2200 lbs. Initially designed to pull conventional copper telecommunications cable through duct work, it has been used with pulling lines for fiber optic cable and small diameter power conductors.
The simple design of this winch features a Honda gasoline engine with a right-angle gear box, onto which is mounted a capstan. The frame-mounted assembly can be positioned over a manhole for easy lifting and pulling. A very practical feature of the Lightweight Capstan Winch is that the crossbar stabilizer can be stored within the frame, making it more compact for transporting and storing.
