The Gentle Air Cable Blower (89916) is a new GMP design built to safely and efficiently install blown fiber into microducts using a battery operated drill and compressed air. This machine is designed for small 1 to 3mm diameter cables and accommodates duct sizes of to 4 to 7mm. It’s a portable and affordable solution with a powerful array of features.
Smaller diameter fiber optic cable has become steadily more popular as of late as customers turn to more fiber-based solutions. The Gentle Air is specifically designed to efficiently install small fiber optic cables, and these small 1 to 3mm cables can be fragile. The Gentle Air comes with a built-in clutch mechanism to help protect the small cable during installation. The clutch is also user adjustable so that you can find the right setting to maximize speed and efficiency while helping to protect the cable.
GMP recommends using a crash test to determine the clutch setting. Simply take a piece of duct, put a cap on the end, and run fiber into the duct until it hits the dead end. Start the test at a low clutch setting, increasing the settings over time in order to find the ideal maximum clutch setting without over pushing the cable.
The Gentle Air is perfect for jobs involving small 1 to 3 mm diameter fiber cable. A travel bag is included for easy transport. A wide range of optional accessories are also available, including a tripod mount (89945) and a drill stand (89948) for sturdy placement while blowing. GMP also offers a Compressor (89011) to generate compressed air for the machine, and a Bottled Nitrogen Kit (89742) for connection to a bottle of compressed nitrogen.
