Used for the sagging of wire up to an initial sag-tension or during clipping operations, our new Pocketbook Grips are a vital piece of equipment. Each Pocketbook Grip is made from sturdy aluminum for durability and lasting power. The Pocketbook Grip is a self-contained unit with no loose parts, and each Grip has peened clamp down bolts to keep flange nuts from getting lost when the device is opened for installation, helping to keep your operation organized.

9 Bolt Pocketbook Grip

The Pocketbook Grip comes in three different models: a 4-Bolt model, a 6-Bolt model, and a 9-Bolt model. Each model was built to handle different pulling strengths. The 4-Bolt Grip, which weighs 10.5 lbs., has a maximum tension limit of 5,000 lbs. or 50 percent of rated strength of conductor (whichever is smaller). The 6-Bolt Grip, weighing 27 lbs., has a maximum tension limit of 12,000 lbs. or 50 percent of rated strength of conductor (whichever is smaller). The 9-Bolt Grip, which weighs between 67 and 68 lbs., has a maximum tension limit of 20,000 lbs. or 50 percent of rated strength of conductor (whichever is smaller). For more specifications on each model, please visit the product page on the GMP website.

Unlike most of our other tools, the Pocketbook Grip is made to order. We keep an inventory of components on hand ready to be custom-milled to your specific requirements to ensure that the Grip will help you get the job done right. And customization doesn’t mean compromising on quick delivery. Orders usually ship in two to five days after the initial order to keep your project on track.

Anyone interested in ordering the Pocketbook Grip should be prepared to provide us with the conductor type, code word, outside diameter and rated strength. For example: ACSS/AW, Cardinal, 1.196”, 24600 lb.
