In this blog, we take a closer look one of the best machines in our cable lasher family: the Apollo. Perfect for all telecom cable construction, including Coaxial and FTTx cable, the Apollo truly is the latest word in aerial cable lashing

What makes the Apollo different? With the Apollo, users are no longer limited to pulling down. The Apollo was designed with a unique parallel-pull capability, which allows users to pull it straight along the line, through trees and other obstructions, or from the side. Combined with the Apollo’s lighter weight, this makes for interference-free overlashing—no modifications necessary.

The Apollo also has a positive slip-free gear drive, which means there are no belts to worry about, and has been tested in more than one million cycles. This means that the Apollo is a tool that you can rely on for the long haul to lash any telecom cable/innerduct combination up to 4 in. (10cm) in diameter. We want every technician to get the most out of their Apollo, which is why we’re going to show you exactly how to load your Apollo Cable Lasher correctly, so that you can start using it right away.

Loading the Apollo Cable lasher correctly is crucial for an effective and durable lashing procedure. This video will show you how to load cable into the lasher step-by-step.

Follow the same loading procedure on the opposite side of the lasher for the second coil.

Each Apollo Lasher also includes a 6 ft. (2 m) towing bridle and a rugged, weather-tight storage chest to securely protect your lasher investment while it’s not in use.

Just like every GMP lasher, the Apollo is fully serviceable to “good-as-new” specifications at our factory and at factory-trained service locations around the globe.
