At General Machine Products we have some outstanding employees, and we are very excited to proudly highlight some of our brightest and most committed staff in our monthly Employee Spotlight. November’s Employee Spotlight features our Rebecca Gushue, our Human Resources Manager.
1. What drew you to GMP originally? And how long have you worked at GMP?
GMP has two fantastic attributes – GMP has a fantastic reputation in the industry and has the backing of Klein Tools, a titan in the electrical tool industry. The GMP name and reputation was very important. I am still rather new at GMP. I was hired June 22 of this past year.
2. What is your favorite part about working for GMP? / What has been your favorite project so far?
It’s hard to pinpoint just one favorite part about working at GMP. Top contenders include fantastic coworkers, amazing leaders at all levels within GMP and an environment that fosters improvement and creativity. So far my favorite project has been creating platforms to increase communication to employees at all levels of the company.
3. What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know that I am a classically trained artist and that I taught art to children for a few years. Even after I changed careers and entered the business world, I still taught art to senior citizens in my spare time. Today, I still use my creative spirt in the work place, but I apply that creativity towards enhancing communication and sponsoring events to thank our employees for a job well done. The picture that I included for this spotlight was taken during one of my events where I sponsored a pancake breakfast for our employees.
